## 2026-04-01: Updates from March 2026

Updates from my website:

- I have copied a lot of old files into this website. I still have to organise most of them
  but the main one [Honey the Cat Unity Edition](https://etc.crisjr.eng.br/honey), a game
  prototype from a few years ago, is now live again!
- More updates the collectibles and to my notebooks. I should rewrite a lot of them to be
  honest but I won't have time for this for a fairly long while.

Updates from my personal life:

- I have released new music!
  [Pig Robot's "Bit Rot"](https://cris-silva-jr.bandcamp.com/album/bit-rot) 
  is now live in most streaming platforms. Please check it out if you are into hard rock.

## 2026-03-01: Updates from February 2026

Updates from my website for February 2026:

- Added the option to filter notes by language
- Redefined default order of notes so indie web stuff comes first
- Added website creation date to footer

While working on these updates, I've noticed that I've been maintaining my website
for nearly 10 years! I will figure out something for its anniversary on October.

Talking about my personal life:

- I've started using [Ghostty](https://ghostty.org/) as a terminal emulator
  - It is pretty neat! I've always stuck to the default terminal on whatever
    operating system I'm using so it was interesting trying something more
    modern for a change.
- A big thanks for [Oberon](https://nightfall.city/shore/oberon)
  for the shoutout on his page on Nightfall City.
- I've finished recording a short EP for my personal hard rock project
  Pig Robot! It will be released on all major music platforms on March 13th.
  I have also started writing a website only for it but, given how busy I am,
  that will take a while to complete.

- Every year, I pick a [theme for that year](https://www.crisjr.eng.br/notes/yearly_themes.html).
  This year, I am going with **the year of knowledge**! As the age of AI creeps
  in, I think it is important, more than ever, to exercise our brains and
  have a thirst for actual intelligence.

## 2026-02-01: Updates from January 2026

The winter weather got the best of me this January so not a lot of updates
this time:

- Finally my website has a 404 page
- These updates are now published on [Nightfall City](https://nightfall.city/shore/boxofjoe/)

## 2025-12-31: 2025 Retrospective

Here is a short summary of all changes that I have made to my website this 2025:

- Moved the whole codebase from Github to Gitlab;
- Started to get more involved with indie web activities, such as
  [fan listings, pixel hoarding, and webrings](https://www.crisjr.eng.br/notes/fan_listings.html);
- Wrote and updated a bunch of notes in my [digital garden](http://www.crisjr.eng.br/notes);
- Copied [even more of my TIC80 carts](http://www.crisjr.eng.br/vg);
- Started my own [static website generator](https://gitlab.com/crisjr/static_site_generator/);
  - This page is now available as an [RSS feed](http://www.crisjr.eng.br/now/feed.rss) by the way!
- Ensured that most pages are now available in Brazilian Portuguese, English, and Japanese;
- Released a new [Pig Robot EP](http://www.crisjr.eng.br/mu);
- Started developing a [Wireworld simulator for the Playdate](https://liberdade.itch.io/wireworld-for-the-playdate);

On my personal life:

- I started a new job;
- I finally realised a life-long dream of visiting the Vatican City,
  even though it was essentially during the Pope's funeral;
    - Rest in peace, Pope Francis `<3`;

Overall, a pretty nice year despite everything! See you all in 2026~

## 2025-12-25: Happy Christmas and a happy 2026!

This is the first post of (hopefully) many in this new updates section on my
website. The idea for this page is to serve as a microblog of sorts where,
at least once I month, I will write about what is happening on my life and
on this website.

Once I finish coding the underlying infrastructure, these notes should be
made available through an RSS feed.

I am initially planning on writing these updates only in English but that
is not set in stone.
