there is another browser, BFG “(stands for Back/Forward/Go),” 
that supports browsing the Nex protocol.  “BFG: a multiprotocol 
‘small web’ browser in Tcl/Tk”

I can confirm it works for browsing at least nex://nightfall.city 
and at least one other Nex site.  With its keybindings and ease of 
opening links in new windows, it’s the closest I’ve ever 
gotten on a current computer to feeling like I’m using the 
venerable and beloved TurboGopher.
